Free School Meals
In Wales, all primary school children now have access to Universal Primary Free School Meals (UPFSM). This means that all children in maintained Primary Schools, from Reception to Year 6, are eligible for a free, nutritious meal at lunchtime, regardless of their family's income or benefit status.
Breakfast Club
Breakfast Club is open from 8:00am – 8:50am
If you'd like your child(ren) to attend Breakfast Club, please visit the Main Office and request an application form. Applications are not guaranteed and are dependent on numbers.
Healthy Snacks and drinks
We promote healthy eating at Ty Sign Primary School and strongly encourage the eating of fruit or vegetables as a playtime snack.
We recognise the health benefits of staying hydrated. We have many water fountains within school that the children can access. Every child from Reception to Year 6 is encouraged to bring a water bottle (clearly marked with their name) to school that they can use to take a drink.
Children in Nursery - Year 2, receive a school milk drink every day. There is no charge for school milk.
Nut Allergies
We have a number of pupils throughout our school with severe nut allergies. For these pupils even the smallest trace of nuts can be life threatening. Therefore our school is a nut free school. Please do not send any food containing traces of nuts into school. We are very grateful for your co-operation.
