School Development Plan

At Ty Sign primary School, we are committed to continuous improvement and providing the very best education for every child. Our School Development journey is guided by a shared vision for improvement, wellbeing, and lifelong learning.

Each year, we carefully reflect on our progress and set clear priorities to help our pupils, staff, and community grow together. Our School Development Plan (SDP) outlines the key areas we are focusing on to strengthen teaching and learning, enhance pupil wellbeing, and build on the exciting opportunities offered by the Curriculum for Wales.

We believe that effective school development is a partnership. By working closely with pupils, parents, governors, and the wider community, we ensure that every child at Ty Sign is supported to achieve their full potential, now and for the future.

This academic year, 2025 - 2026, we have three main improvement areas within our SDP:

1. Strengthen leadership and management at all levels to ensure rigorous self-evaluation and improvement planning leads to sustained improvements in pupil outcomes and wellbeing.

2. Raise standards in writing across the curriculum, ensuring pupils make strong progress in line with Curriculum for Wales progression steps. Focus will be placed on handwriting, spelling, extended writing, self-reflection, and consistency of teaching and assessment, while also fostering enjoyment and independence in writing.

3. Develop and refine a progressive, inclusive and engaging curriculum aligned with  Curriculum for Wales.
